Jean-Michel Aulas is a well-known French businessman with an enterprising spirit.
Mr. Aulas experience as a business owner started at 18 years old, when he created an IT service company, which he led for several years. In 1983, Mr. Aulas founded CEGID, another IT company, through his private equity firm ICMI (today Holnest), also created in 1983. CEGID provides business management software and went public on the Euronext in 1986, only three years after its creation. CEGID was acquired by American private equity firm Silver Lake in 2016. At the time, the company had revenues of €300M and 2.000 employees.
A sports enthusiast, Jean-Michel Aulas has been managing the French football club Olympique Lyonnais (OL) since 1987. Under the helm of Mr. Aulas, OL won the French Championship between 2002 and 2008 and participated in the European Champions League several times. In 2004, Mr. Aulas also created a women’s OL club, which has won five champions league titles. Mr. Aulas is currently the President and principal stockholder of OL.
Mr. Aulas’ engagement in the french society has earned him numerous prizes and distinctions, including the prestigious Legion d’Honneur. Mr. Aulas is considered a prominent figure in the French business world. Mr. Aulas works on the Embassair project with his son, Alexandre Aulas, who is a member of the executive committee.
